The Executive Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has appointed Omobayo Godwin, a 38-year-old engineer, as his new deputy.
The appointment came after the recent impeachment of the former Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, by the State House of Assembly.
According to the panel set up for the impeachment proceedings of Shuaibu, the former Deputy Governor was sacked for leaking the state government’s secrets.
Omobayo, who hails from Akoko Edo Local Government Area of the state was born on July 19, 1986.
He holds a B.Eng degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and a Masters degree in Public Administration from the prestigious University of Benin.
He is a registered member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria.
Before his new appointment, he worked as a Senior Maintenance Engineer at Dresser Wayne West Africa Limited, carving a niche in the operations in the South-South area, offering top-notch services and growing the business in the region.
