The President of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa has revealed that the country has received its first batch of Coronavirus vaccines.
While making the revelation, the President tweeted: “The first batch of vaccines for Zimbabwe has been successfully delivered. We start vaccinating Zimbabweans this week!
“The faster our country is protected against this virus, the faster Zimbabwe’s economy can flourish.”
No fewer than four Ministers have died of coronavirus in Zimbabwe. The deaths have prompted the country to further enforce lockdown measures.
Media reports have it that a lot of other cabinet ministers are currently on admission in a private hospital.
Not too long ago, John Mangwiro, Zimbabwe’s Deputy Health Minister said: “We are in a dark cloud that we have to clear very soon.”
Mangwiro detailed plans to advance the current lockdown that commenced in early January and includes a strict night curfew. Also, restaurants, gyms and bars have been compelled to close.
Zimbabwe has recorded over 30,500 cases of COVID-19 and over 960 deaths since the pandemic began.
