The Defense Minister of Ukraine, Oleksii Reznikov has urged the EU to supply Ukraine with 250,000 artillery shells every month.
While urging the EU, Reznikov stated that Ukraine aims to reduce its acute shortage of shells through this measure and added that the shortage limits the army’s progress on the battleground.
As a result of the growing shortage, the Ukrainian fighters are forced to deploy only a fifth of the shells.
The minister appealed to the EU member states to supply the needed consignment every month in a bid to tackle the critical shortage.
He said: “If we were not limited by the number of available artillery shells, we could use the full ammunition set, which is 594,000 shells per month.”
