United Kingdom authorities have disclosed that the travel ban against Nigeria would not be reversed despite the threat by the government of Nigeria to implement a travel ban against the country.
The spokesman for British High Commission, Dean Hurlock made this known while reacting to Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika’s threat that the UK, Canada and Saudi Arabia would be placed on Nigeria’s travel ban soon.
Hurlock, maintained that travel abroad would not be the same this year and the United Kingdom will stick to its “standard background lines.”
She also said that the travel advice of Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office was kept under constant review and travellers were asked to keep checking it for entry requirements of the destination they intend to visit.
Hurlock said: “The UK government has been clear that travel abroad will be different this year and countries may impose border measures at short notice in line with their coronavirus policies.
“Travellers can also sign up for e-mail alerts onGOV.UK to get the latest updates as soon as they happen. We are in regular conversations with other countries about their travel policies.”
