Taliban has ordered every government employee to wear a beard and abide by the dress code or risk being sacked.
Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice representatives were patrolling the entrances to government offices recently to check that employees complied with the new rules.

According to sources, “Employees were being instructed not to shave their beards and to wear local clothing consisting of a long, loose top and trousers, and a hat or turban.
“They were also told to ensure they prayed at the correct times.”
Workers were informed they would henceforth be unable to go into their offices and would eventually be sacked if they did not meet the dress codes.
Recently, the Taliban prohibited women from taking flights without a male chaperone and did not open girls’ schools.

The Taliban administration has been criticized at home and by Western governments for forcing its draconian interpretation of Islamic law on all Afghans.
Recently, it directed parks to be separated by sex, with women permitted to enter three days a week while men will enter the other four days, including the weekend, meaning married couples and families cannot visit parks together.
