The newly-appointed Head Coach of Super Eagles, José Santos Peseiro has named his squad for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Sierra Leone and São Tomé.
In the list released, six out of the eight home-based players that were part of the team that travelled to the United States of America for the friendlies against Mexico and Ecuador were dropped.
Ahmed Musa, Adebayo Adeleye, Abdullahi Shehu, Zaidu Sanusi, Leon Balogun, Kenneth Omeruo, Oghenekaro Etebo, Frank Onyeka, Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze, Ademola Lookman, and Sadiq Umar all returned to the squad.
The Super Eagles match against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone will take place on June 9 at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja while the match against the Falcons of Sao Tome and Principe will take place on June 13 in Marrakech, Morocco.
