The Coach of Manchester United Football Club, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has revealed that the club is yet to reach an agreement with Shanghai Shenhua in respect of Odion Ighalo’s loan extension.
Solskjaer gave the update in an article posted on Manchester United’s official website on Tuesday.
Solskjaer’s reaction came amid the speculation that trails the extension of Ighalo’s loan. The loan will expire on Sunday, May 31.
While providing the update, Solskjaer said he hopes that Ighalo would be permitted to finish the season with United and also win at least a cup for his childhood club.
Solskjaer told MUTV: “The loan deal went until the end of May now, so obviously he’s supposed to be going back.
“We’re in dialogue. They’ve been great towards us, his club, and allowed him to play for his dream club.
“It’s been a dream for him and hopefully he can finish off what he started, hopefully with a trophy for us.
“At the moment, nothing has been agreed. Their league is going to get started soon so we’re just waiting to see.”
Ighalo has indicated severally that he wants to remmain at Old Trafford despite being offered a new four-year contract that worths £400,000 per week by his parent club.
Ighalo is currently training with other United players at their Carrington base as he awaits what the future holds for him.
As a matter of fact, his name has been included in a tentative list of Team A players for Manchester United when the League restarts.
