A boy has been rescued by Police in Strathcona County and several sexual exploitation case charges have been laid against the child’s father.
The man allegedly talked with a woman online who was charged in early February with committing similar child sexual exploitation offences against her child.
According to Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) Internet Child Exploitation unit, new offenses were uncovered during preliminary forensic analysis.
While talking during a recent press conference, RCMP Sgt. Kerry Shima, an ICE unit investigator, said: “It is the belief of our investigators and forensic technicians that the accused was sharing this abuse and glamorizing his actions in an online conversation with the accused female from Strathcona County.
“The messages that have been discovered lead us to believe they bonded over their shared abuse of their own children for sexual purpose.”
