Themed “When the Going Gets Tough…the Tough Gets Rewarded,” the event recognized individuals who have demonstrated resilience and transformative leadership.
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu was lauded for his strides in infrastructure, particularly the completion of 172 roads spanning 177.93 kilometers, the expansion of the Blue Line operations, and the commissioning of the Red Line Rail project.
Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah received accolades for boosting the state’s Internally Generated Revenue from N25 billion to N144 billion within 19 months and spearheading critical judicial reforms.
Akwa Ibom’s Umo Eno was honored for his developmental initiatives, which include over 157 road projects across all 31 Local Government Areas and the establishment of the Ibom Model Farm to drive agricultural transformation.
Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori was recognized for his urban renewal agenda in Warri and Sapele, extensive road and bridge construction, and strategic investments in education and healthcare.
Kaduna State’s Uba Sani was celebrated for his commitment to security, highlighted by his collaboration with security agencies, the creation of the Kaduna State Security Trust Fund, and decisive governance measures.
Beyond the gubernatorial awards, President Bola Tinubu was named Man of the Year, while Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), received the Woman of the Year award.
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike was recognized as Minister of the Year, while Adams Oshiomhole and Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan were named Senators of the Year.
The event also featured a Lifetime Achievement Award category, which honored several distinguished Nigerians, including former President Goodluck Jonathan, business mogul Atedo Peterside, and the late banking visionary Herbert Wigwe, among others.
