Kano State Police Command has disclosed that Emir Muhammad Sanusi II will lead the Friday prayers at the Kano Central Mosque, not Aminu Bayero.
Police Commissioner Usaini Gumel made this known in a recent telephone interview. He stated that Bayero would observe his Friday prayers in the mosque within the Nasarawa Palace, where he resides currently.
According to the police chief, force and other state security agencies would offer robust security at the Emir of Kano’s palace, where the recently installed Emir is expected to lead the Jummah prayers.
Gumel said: “The police urge the general public to disregard the false reports and misinformation circulating on social media and go about their activities without fear of molestation or intimidation.
“The police will continue to provide necessary security to ensure that will enable residents to observe their Friday congressional prayers peacefully without threats to their lives and property.”
