Play airline has announced that Amsterdam has been added to its list of inaugural flights from Hamilton.
Starting from June 22, passengers can fly to Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport from John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport for as low as $169.
While making the announcement, Birgir Jónsson, CEO of Play, said: “We are thrilled to launch our services to Amsterdam and connect more customers to our affordable travel options.”

Jónsson said the mission of the company is to provide low-cost flights and offer more value.
He said: “We aim to give the competition a run for their money with our low prices, providing people in Canada the opportunity to save money on their flights and enjoy more experiences in their destination.”
Play announced its arrival in Hamilton known in January when it inaugurated flights to 26 European destinations which include London, Paris, and Berlin.
Play said passengers can enjoy a more “comfortable, safe and reliable” flight as its aircraft is just above two years.
Travellers have to pay for upgrades, like in-flight meals, carry-ons, checked bags, and extra legroom.
Since its first flight in June 2021, Play has increased its fleet from three Airbus A320neo aircraft to six in 2022 and will have ten Airbus A320/321neo aircraft this year.
The company had an 87 per cent on-time flight performance through the first quarter of 2023.
