The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Umo Eno, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as the winner of the governorship election in Akwa Ibom State.
Eno won 29 out of the 31 local government areas in the state. He polled a total of 354,348 votes to defeat Bassey Albert of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), who got 136,262 votes, and Akanimo Udofia of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 129,602 votes.

The number of valid votes cast was 656,422, while 12,342 votes were rejected.
