A Pakistani man has purchased one-acre of land on moon as wedding gift for his wife.
Sohaib Ahmed, who resides in Rawalpindi, purchased the lunar land in the area called ‘Sea of Vapour’. The land was bought for $45 from the International Lunar Lands Registry and the couple got the land documents at their residence through US Postal Service.

According to the website of Lunar Settlement Initiative, “under the terms of the LSI, property claims on Luna may be offered to private entities to finance the exploration, settlement, and development of the Moon and its resources.”
The website further states that “upon the recognition and certification of land claims, property owners shall be entitled to inhabit and develop their property in any manner, subject to any laws or statutes that may be established by the sovereign and independent government of Luna, which shall be freely elected by its citizens.”
While talking about the land, Ahmed said that late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput inspired him to buy his piece of land on the moon. Sushant acquired a piece of land in the Mare Muscoviense area or the ‘Sea of Muscovy’ through the International Lunar Lands Registry.
His wife, Madiha revealed that her friends did not believe her when she informed them about the shocking wedding gift her husband gave her.
While talking to Samaa TV, she said: “At first everyone thought it was a joke, but then I showed them the documents and then they believed it.”
She added that one of her numerous friends also wishes that her fiancé buys her a plot of land on the moon as her wedding gift.
