Napoli Football Club have confirmed that Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen still test positive for COVID-19 after conducting a fresh coronavirus test.

The football club confirmed the development on their official Twitter handle.

Osimhen first tested positive for Coronavirus upon returning to Naples on New Year’s Day, after he spent time in Nigeria, where he was part of the attendees of a birthday party and contravened COVID-19 protocols.

Videos showed Osimhen dancing without wearing facemask while others who were present also broke COVID-19 protocols, which infuriated Napoli manager Gennaro Gattuso and the fans.

After isolating for 10 days in isolation, Napoli revealed the player was still positive.

The Italian club tweeted: “The molecular nasopharyngeal swab carried out this (Monday) morning to the footballer Victor Osimhen, resulted in a positive result in Covid-19.

“The player will repeat the test this week.”

He could be out of action for another 10 days.
