World Number 1 tennis star, Novak Djokovic is reportedly set to be banned from participating in this year’s US Open as he still refuses to take the Covid-19 vaccine.
The 20-time Grand Slam winner was banned from taking part in the Australian Open a day before the tournament began at Melbourne Park in January this year after Immigration Minister Alex Hawke revoked his visa.
According to The Telegraph, the Serb is now set to be banned from Flushing Meadows which will take place in August and September, with no plans by the United States to relax immigration rules obliging travellers to have had the vaccine.

This came after the US immigration dropped the requirement for all incoming passengers to return a negative Covid test before entering an aeroplane, but maintained the need to present proof of vaccination on arrival.
Meanwhile, Djokovic revealed in February during in his first interview after the farce in Australia that he would not play at future Grand Slams if he has to take a Covid vaccine.
By implication, the 35-year-old will likely miss the first major of next year as Australia will likely maintain its vaccination requirements.
