According to reports, the government of Nova Scotia is spending $5 million to kickstart a Sydney housing project that was first announced last spring.
In line with the announcement of plans made in March 2021, the Urban Neighbourhood Development Association is planning to build around 430 units in a brand-new neighbourhood.

The project includes townhouses and apartment buildings on 9.7-hectare property at Cape Breton University (CBU) which was bought almost three years ago.
This is part of an $8-million funding announcement “to increase housing options for post-secondary students.”
Students would be free to rent apartments on the site when the project is completed.
