Nordstrom is closing all of its Canadian stores which include stores at Mississauga’s Heartland Centre and Etobicoke’s Sherway Gardens.
The retailer announced the news recently and said it did not foresee a profitable future in Canada.
In a statement, Erik Nordstrom, chief executive officer of Nordstrom, said: “We entered Canada in 2014 with a plan to build and sustain a long-term business there. Despite our best efforts, we do not see a realistic path to profitability for the Canadian business.

“We want to thank our team for their performance and dedication in serving customers in Canada.”
2,500 people will lose their jobs across the country because of the closure.
As expected, all 13 Canadian stores will close by the end of June but its e-commerce site will stop operating immediately.
