Yusuf Kabir of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has won Kano State gubernatorial election. He defeated Nasir Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who was supported by incumbent Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Kabir became victorious after polling 1,019,602 votes, while Gawuna polled 890,705 votes.
The election was a keen contest between Kabir and Gawuna, as both candidates crisscrossed the state in the run-up to the election to seek votes. Eventually, the NNPP candidate emerged victorious, to the delight of his supporters who trooped out to celebrate his victory.
