Police authorities in Abuja have arrested a woman for criticizing a tomato paste that she claimed was sugary.
A couple of weeks ago, the woman, whose Facebook name is Chioma Egodi Jnr, posted that she went to the market to get her favourite tomato paste. But when she could not get it, she bought another one.
Chioma however claimed that the paste tasted sugary when she opened it. She, however, asked her followers to confirm if they had used the product.

She was later arrested and the Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), Babatunde Iruka, confirmed that the lady had been arrested over the comment.
While confirming the arrest, Iruka tweeted: “UPDATE: @fccpcnigeria operatives have confirmed the arrest & transfer of the case to Abuja by the Police Force,” the FCCPC boss wrote on his X account Monday.
“She was no longer at the station on arrival. Working to determine the exact current location & engaging Force HQ in Abuja.”
Though the company had denied the woman’s claim and labelled it as false, the FCCPC, said “summons are being issued” to the firm.
