UNILAG graduate ,Modupe Elebute Odunsi, who practiced in the UK for decades, has come back home to launch the first comprehensive cancer center and specialist hospital in Nigeria. The multibillion naira center possesses some of the world’s best equipment.
The cancer center is called Marcelle Ruth Cancer Center and it is one of two centers with a CT Simulator in Nigeria. The center also has a TrueBeam radiotherapy machine.
Marcelle Ruth Cancer Center facility includes 15 en-suite in-patient rooms; radiotherapy centre with Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator; imaging centre with 64-slice CT simulator, 3-D mammogram, 3-D ultrasound and digital X-Ray; 2 modular operating theatres; 8-bed Day Unit infusion and chemotherapy suite; automated laboratory service and blood bank; and in-house Oncology and General Pharmacy
