Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister, Melanie Joly will travel to India between February 6 and 7 in a bid to deepen bilateral ties with the country.
According to Global Affairs Canada, the goal of Joly’s visit to India is to “deepen bilateral ties and foster stronger partnerships,” and “create opportunities for growth and prosperity for the two countries.”

Joly tweeted: “As I depart for my first official trip to India, I’m looking forward to strengthening our relationship, putting our Indo-Pacific Strategy into action.”
She will meet with her Indian counterpart Dr S Jaishankar. Both ministers will figure out areas where Canadian and Indian interests intersect and where the two countries could further work together on global and regional issues.
