Winnipeg’s Toba Centre for Children and Youth will soon open a Manitoba-wide child abuse investigation unit with $2.1 million in funding from the government of Manitoba. The centre will provide comprehensive assistance to victims of child abuse and their families.
During a recent press conference, Christy Dzikowicz, the Executive Director of Toba Centre for Children and Youth, expressed her happiness about the prospect of welcoming children and families that have encountered neglect and harm. She added that no child should ever have to encounter such experiences.

The new facility is currently undergoing a $15 million expansion, of which approximately $10 million has already been generated from various sources which include donations by Manitobans, the city, and the province.
