The President of Madagascar, Andry Rajoelina has sacked all his ministers, his office said. This came days after he criticized some of their performances as below par.
The office of the President offered no reason for the dismissals in a statement issued late recently.
While slamming the performance of some ministers during a recent broadcast on National Television, Rajoelina said: “Like in a football team, you have to change when there are failures in government.
“There will be a change and this concerns those who do not carry out the work entrusted to them.”
Rajoelina first assumed office through a March 2009 coup, unseating Marc Ravalomanana. He was in control as the head of a transitional government till 2014.
In the 2019 elections, he was challenged by Ravalomanana, who lost and said the vote was fraudulent.
