In a bid to mark 100 years of Lions Club’s existence in Canada, Thistletown New Era Lions Club, the newest, fastest-growing Lions Club in Ontario donated community bench to Sick Kids.
The event took place on July 8, 2022 and was attended by many members of the club.
While talking during the event, the President of the Club made it known that in line with the objectives of Lions Club which are eradication of childhood cancer, hunger, vision, diabetes and attainment of a better environment, the Club donated the chair to Sick Kids.
After the event, Lion Andrea Saul, the Charter President\Zone Chair 32A took to her Facebook page and wrote: “Oh what a Historical Moment it was today in the City of Toronto. I was only an instrument God used to CHARTER the LARGEST CYBER LIONS CLUB in Canada on the 3rd of November 2020.
“So all the PRAISE belongs to God who kept us through the pandemic storm and keeps on keeping us as we go out and come in attending to the needs of others.
“We thank our A-711 Past District Governor Lion Terrence Richards for being so instrumental in our formation of our Lions Club. Also, we thank our District A-711 Governor Lion Ferdy Coronel and spouse Lion Arlene for attending our Propetious occasion.
“Thanks to Susie Petro from the Facilities Management Department and Lion Abdulgafoor Nurani and the Macci Family for their Sponsorship.
“To all our Members, Family and Friends, thank you for your generous donation and support.”
Also, Ferdinand Polintan-Coronel wrote: “Congratulations to Thisletown New Era Lions on completing your Legacy Project -Community Bench Donation To Sick Kids.
“Thank you ZC Chartered Pres Andrea for coordinating with Susie Petro of Sick Kids. The district also congratulates the club for achieving the coveted award -Club Excellence Award 2020-2021 & recognizing IPP Lion Andrea with a President Excellence Pin .
