Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, the wife of the Executive Governor of Lagos State, has reacted to the death of Vwaere Diaso, a female medical doctor who died as a result of the mechanical failure of an elevator at the General Hospital, Odan, Lagos Island.
Recall that the elevator was said to have developed faults which staff had frequently complained about to no avail.
While addressing the media recently, the Governor’s wife stated that the incident was caused by a “spiritual attack” against the health sector.
In a viral video, Ibijoke also connected the incident to the recent jet accident that happened in the state while demanding answers from the crowd.
She said: “An arrow has been fired into the health family. First of August is a day I will never forget. The same day a helicopter crashed, the same day a lift dropped down. How? How? How?”
Nigerians have reacted to her statement on twitter. Check out some of the reactions below:

@Morris_Monye tweeted: “Anyway, elections have big big consequences.”
Olasupo Jakes tweeted: “How heartless can Sanwoolu and his wife be, huh? The husband hid 103 bodies of #LekkiMassacre victims for 2yrs. Now, the wife is saying the negligence that killed a young doctor is a spiritual attack. What a heartless family!”
A.D. Ashu tweeted: “This better be a joke.”
@Irunnia_ tweeted: “An elevator have been faulty for months and it’s been reported multiple times but nothing was done. The only thing spiritual that happened there is the stupidity of the management not to fix their elevator.”

@legend_082 tweeted: “Nigeria failed the deceased just as it had done to everyone of us. Talk like this is the reason why you should marry an intelligent man or woman.”
@METAJUNNY tweeted: “Like husband, like wife.. evil people.”
Daniel Regha tweeted: “A faulty elevator killed a medical practitioner but Sanwo-Olu’s wife thinks it’s a “spiritual attack”. This isn’t surprising considering what the Lagos State govt did during the EndSARS protests, (debunking & hiding a massacre). I pray the family of the deceased gets justice.”
@natureorder tweeted: “I’m disappointed but not surprised.”
@Slim_Smithy tweeted: “Spiritual attack sef don suffer from false allegations.”

Ozioma Nwachukwu tweeted: “Elevator wey una no dey service na spirit go service am “Spiritual attack”.
