Bus drivers in Lagos have embarked on a protest, causing widespread disruption to residents.
The drivers protested against the alleged extortion by officials of the Lagos State Park and Gardens Management Committee, Chaired by Musiliu Akinsanya, also known as MC Oluomo. As a result of the protest, commuters trekked long distances to reach their destinations across different parts of the city.

Placards with inscriptions such as “we are tired of Agberos extortion” and “Extortion killing us” were carried by the drivers and their assistants. The drivers lamented that the high cost of extortions was eaten into their profit margin thereby making it difficult to meet their daily responsibilities.
They urged the government to intervene and tackle the burden encountered by the drivers. They however vowed to continue protesting until the issue is addressed.
