Reigning Nigerian singer and songwriter, Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, better known by his stage name Kizz Daniel, has been announced by the football’s global governing body (FIFA) as one of the headliners at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The football body in a statement revealed the five official performing artists who will thrill the billions of audience at the fan festival event in the Gulf nation.
The statement reads “In less than a week, the FIFA World Cup will kick off and bring excitement to the stadiums of Qatar”.
“The FIFA Fan Festival might be even more exciting, as five international, award-winning musicians will perform on the Live Stage as part of the FIFA Sound line-up.”
The lineup includes Diplo, the US music producer, who is expected to perform on November 22, while Kizz Daniel will bless the football audience with his offerings on November 23.
Also, Nora Fatehi from Canada will thrill the crowd on November 29, while US’ Trinidad Cardona performs on December 1.
The other artiste is Scotland’s Calvin Harris who will take centre stage on December 10.
FIFA added that “these artistes are all slated to enrich the great programme of the FIFA Fan Festival over the 29 days of the tournament at Doha’s Al Bidda Park, among more than 20 additional top-level entertainers from around the world performing at the event.”
For the 28-year-old Kizz Daniel, the development comes as an answered prayer as he had previously expressed his desire to perform his hit song ‘Buga’ at the 2022 World Cup.
In a swift reaction to FIFA’s lineup, Daniel said: “When you have a dream, you’ve got to grab it and never let go.
“Let’s all dream together at the FIFA Fan Festival in Doha and make it a once-in-a-lifetime experience!”
The 2022 FIFA Men’s World Cup is expected to commence on November 20.
