Kevin O’Leary has testified before an Ontario court that he could not remember if his wife, Linda, drank alcohol in the hours before a boating accident which killed two people and injured others.
The popular businessman testified via Zoom recently concerning the day before the August 24, 2019 crash that occurred Toronto’s on Lake Joseph, and the hours that followed.
Linda O’Leary has pleaded not guilty to the charge of careless operation of a vessel under the Canada Shipping Act.
Kevin said he did not remember his wife looking to be influenced by alcohol hours before and after the accident, though he was not with her for several hours.
He said Linda had driven their boat to and from a dinner party that evening, as she often did being the more experienced boater between the two.

He testified that he only saw the other boat involved in the crash late at night a few seconds prior to its collision and that he did not instantly know what was struck.
He said there was “no light” emanating from the other boat till after the collision when the lights came on and he left without making any communication with the O’Leary boat.
