Ahead of this weekend’s Premier League fixtures, former England and Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has predicted the teams that will occupy the top six when the league ends in May.
During a recent interview with Sky Bet, Carragher predicted Liverpool would win the season for the first time since 2020.
He feels Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal will finish second for a third successive season and Chelsea finishing just behind them in third place.
He tipped Newcastle United to secure fourth place and return to the UEFA Champions League this season while Nottingham Forest will finish fifth and Manchester City to finish sixth.
Liverpool are currently topping the log with 53 points from 22 games and are six points clear of Arsenal in second place, who have played a match more.
Nottingham Forest are surprisingly occupying the third place with 44 points, while Manchester City and Newcastle United have 41 points apiece.
Chelsea are occupying sixth place with 40 points and have to do more to meet the prediction.
