Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Limited, Nigeria’s indigenous vehicle manufacturing company, has delivered the first set of vehicles ordered by the Government of Sierra Leone. The vehicles got to Freetown recently and were built to serve Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Defence.

In a statement, Cornel Osigwe, Innoson Group’s head of Corporate Communications, said the vehicle was built on request by the president of Sierra Leone, Julius Maada Bio.
Also, Osigwe said an order worth $4.7 million(N2.01bn) was placed by the President of Sierra Leone for the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces officers, RSLAF.
With the arrival of the vehicles in Freetown, Sierra Leone becomes the first West African country whose armed forces are using IVM products apart from Nigeria.
According to reports, the citizens of Sierra Leone were excited about the purchase. The President was praised for not only choosing to equip the military but also buying the vehicles from Africa.
