The governorship and state house of assembly elections slated for Saturday, March 11, 2023 have been postponed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to sources within INEC, the elections will now take place on March 18, 2023. The postponement was due to the inability of the commission to re-configure the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines used in the previous presidential and National Assembly elections for the state elections.

The re-configuration process will take three to four days, and the machines will be deployed to the states and polling units after they were moved to the INEC headquarters in Abuja.
