Nigerian internet superstars, Ikorodu Bois, were featured on a Netflix advert shown on Broadway Times Square, New York City. Ikorodu Bois have now joined top-rated celebrities like Davido, Tiwa Savage, Burna Boy, Wizkid, and others who have featured on a billboard in Times Square.
The Times Square is located in Midtown Manhattan area of New York City, and is a major tourist destination and entertainment nerve center in the United States. In the advert, a clip of a trailer that Ikorodu Bois remade was included.
This is another giant leap for the group, which comprises the trio of 15-year-old Muiz Sanni, 10-year-old Malik Sanni and 13-year-old Fawas.
The group is famous for remaking, imitating and recreating top-notch music videos, movie scenes, and movie trailers by using ordinary household items.
Recently, Netflix revealed plans to feature Ikorodu Bois in its Oscar Weekend Film Brand Campaign.
In a statement made available to The PUNCH, Netflix said its campaign was aimed at celebrating fans for the vital role they play in viewing, loving, discussing, and recreating Netflix movies.
The statement read in part, “Netflix’s wide reach has woken up a new generation of global film fans, allowing them to discover more diverse perspectives, see themselves reflected and inspiring new forms of movie-love.
“Once a year, the Oscars pierce the culture and put movies on our collective minds, and this year, we are putting the spotlight on the Ikorodu Bois to remind movie fans that fans are the most important part of the movies.”
