Honda has recalled around 1.2 million vehicles in the United States because the rearview camera image may not appear on the dashboard screen.
The recall covers some Odyssey minivans that were manufactured between 2018 and 2023, Pilot SUVs that were manufactured between 2019 and 2022 and Passport SUVs that were manufactured between 2019 and 2023.
In a recent document posted by U.S. safety regulators, Honda said that the problem was traced to a faulty coaxial cable connector. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, if the rearview camera image doesn’t display, it can cut the visibility of the driver and increase the risk of a crash.

Honda said it received around 274,000 warranty claims between May of 2017 and June 8. It has no reports of any injuries.
Dealers will replace a cable harness and fix a straightening cover at no cost to owners. The owners will be notified by letter starting July 24.
