“But the Lord said to Elijah,[a] 18 “Go down to meet King Ahab of Israel, who rules in Samaria. He will be at Naboth’s vineyard in Jezreel, claiming it for himself. 19 Give him this message: ‘This is what the Lord says: Wasn’t it enough that you killed Naboth? Must you rob him, too? Because you have done this, dogs will lick your blood at the very place where they licked the blood of Naboth!’”
20 “So, my enemy, you have found me!” Ahab exclaimed to Elijah.”Yes,” Elijah answered, “I have come because you have sold yourself to what is evil in the Lord’s sight. 1 King 21:17-20
Unknown to many in the cause of living their lives, acquiring properties, migrating to new countries, getting jobs and contracts, securing life partners, winning elections, acquiring diabolical powers to do church-related ministry, and corporate organizations they deliberately and intentionally and in many cases indirectly sell their souls to the devil!
You may be familiar with this story. Ahab was the King of Israel. Naboth, one of his subjects had one inherited vineyard close to Ahab’s palace. “Long throat“ moved Ahab to desire it. Jezebel gathered some people to kill Naboth and handed the vineyard to her husband.

The danger is the devil has nothing good to offer. He will like he did with Ahab use people like Jezebel and the scoundrels who testified against Naboth to give you “peanuts” and take away your life.
The Holy Spirit wants me to warn you about the danger of selling your soul to the devil.
What is a soul? Why is the soul important? The human being or man is a spirit that has a soul and lives in a body. The combination of the spirit and soul is called “the inner man” it came from heaven. They don’t die, but change bodies. It’s in you now, but when you die it will be put on another body (1 Cor 15). Who you “sell it “ to God or to Satan, will determine where it will go, heaven or hell.
In Matthew 4:9 “And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee if thou wilt fall down and worship me.” Satan offered the whole material world to Jesus but Jesus was smart enough to reject the offer!
When and how do we sell our soul to the devil?
1. When you have ungodly ambitions and desires.
2. When you are in haste to make it and someone sells you a dummy of the fastest route- through bribery or diabolical means. For instance, your church is not growing and not generating revenue as you expected and they introduce you to one Baba/ Mama that will promise you power – but with a condition, you surrender your soul. You have 5 years to live etc

3. When you are desperate for solutions at all cost. When you deliberately do wicked things and tell yourself the end justifies the means. For instance, you used thuggery, ballot snatching, buying votes, rigging, and power of incumbency to win an election. You are selling your soul to the devil.
4. Like Ahab when you are not content with what God has given you. Like David taking Bathsheba from Uriah and killing him. You are not satisfied with your spouse you have to go for the spouses of your friends, church members, and colleagues.
5. Like Jezebel you know how to gather people, and bribe people to do what you want. It’s your way or no way.
6. When you abuse your position, and authority. When you steal the nation’s, or church’s or your workplace’s funds or property for whatever reason. You are selling your soul to the devil.
7. When you scheme manipulate, coerce, forge, bribe or use other unprofessional, unethical, ungodly, unprincipled ways to get results, you are selling your soul.
Read what Elijah said to Ahab as a result of selling his soul :
“So now the Lord says,[b] ‘I will bring disaster on you and consume you. I will destroy every one of your male descendants, slave and free alike, anywhere in Israel! 22 I am going to destroy your family as I did the family of Jeroboam son of Nebat and the family of Baasha son of Ahijah, for you have made me very angry and have led Israel into sin.’
23 “And regarding Jezebel, the Lord says, ‘Dogs will eat Jezebel’s body at the plot of land in Jezreel.[c]’
24 “The members of Ahab’s family who die in the city will be eaten by dogs, and those who die in the field will be eaten by vultures.”
25 (No one else so completely sold himself to what was evil in the Lord’s sight as Ahab did under the influence of his wife Jezebel” 1 King 21:20-25.
Conclusion: All that Elijah prophesied came to pass. The lesson here is that all those who sell their souls to the devil will eventually have their possessions and family destroyed on earth and end up in hell fire.
I pray you will not sell your soul to the devil. If you have, come back to Jesus today. Do what Ahab did, he repented and God forgave him. God is knocking through this message – open to Him.
May we meet in heaven! Shalom–
O taste and see that the Lord is good.(Psalm 34:8). I have tasted and found that the Lord is good. I do testify that the Lord is good. Join me to taste him.
