In a bid to enhance Nigerian participation at the highly anticipated 10th edition of the Africa Road Builders Conference, the General Commission of The Africa Road Builders – Trophee Babacar NDIAYE has appointed Global Citirep Communications, an integrated marketing communications agency, to engage and secure partners across Nigeria.
According to an official statement from the commission, this milestone edition will feature two major events: an Inaugural Conference scheduled for April in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) under the theme “Transport in Africa: Services and Development,” and a Final Conference set for May in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, coinciding with the Annual Meetings of the African Development Bank (AfDB). These gatherings aim to evaluate Africa’s transport services, the existing infrastructure, and opportunities for advancement, with a focus on actionable strategies to enhance road and transport systems across the continent.
For a decade, the Africa Road Builders – Trophee Babacar NDIAYE has received steadfast support from AfDB. To further boost engagement this year, Global Citirep Communications, based in Lagos, has been tasked with identifying and enlisting participants from Nigeria.
A formal mandate, signed by the General Commissioner of The Africa Road Builders, Barthélemy Kouamé, and directed to Global Citirep Communications CEO Hakeem Bello, outlines the agency’s responsibilities. These include recruiting attendees, collecting participation fees on behalf of the commission, and executing activities aligned with the programme and pricing framework to ensure substantial Nigerian representation.
Expressing enthusiasm over the appointment, Bello highlighted the significance of the event in driving the growth of Africa’s transport infrastructure. He underscored its role in fostering sustainable and inclusive development across the continent.
“This edition spotlights transport services as a crucial catalyst for economic and social growth in Africa. Discussions will encompass accessibility, financing, market regulations, and policy administration, alongside the experiences of both individual and professional transport users,” stated the organisers.
Bello further emphasized the multiple benefits the conference offers to attendees and sponsors, including enhanced visibility and opportunities to showcase progress made in road transport infrastructure within their jurisdictions.
“Like other prestigious global forums, this platform boosts both personal and corporate reputations. Participants at all levels will have the opportunity to share their insights and experiences through presentations and panel discussions,” he noted.
The organisers have structured the sponsorship benefits into tiers, with each offering unique privileges. Ordinary delegates will enjoy general benefits, while Silver Sponsors will receive additional perks, including their logo featured on all event visuals and a dedicated page in Acturoutes magazine for April and May 2025.
Gold Sponsors will receive the general benefits alongside the Silver package, plus the opportunity to make two presentations on selected topics. The highest sponsorship category, the Diamond Sponsor/Patron, includes all the aforementioned benefits, two pages in Acturoutes magazine, special placement on Acturoutes TV (both live and recorded), as well as exclusive dinner sponsorships featuring their messages. They will also have the opportunity to deliver two specialized presentations on topics of their choice.
Notably, delegates registered for the UAE conference will automatically qualify to participate in the Abidjan event, granting them unparalleled access to global experts in road and transport development.
With industry leaders converging at this forum, participants will gain access to specialized knowledge, cutting-edge analysis, and emerging trends in transportation. For sponsors, the conference presents a valuable platform to network, engage in strategic partnerships, and acquire insights that can benefit their respective organizations, companies, or government institutions.
As in previous years, the Final Conference in Abidjan will coincide with the AfDB Annual Meetings, where the President of the AfDB, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, will receive special recognition for his outstanding leadership and contributions to Africa’s development.
Bello assured that Global Citirep Communications is fully prepared to facilitate a seamless experience for Nigerian participants, ensuring they maximize the benefits of their registration, which grants them access to both events. A seasoned professional, Bello is a fellow of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) and the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), as well as a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR). With over three decades of expertise in media, infrastructure development, and communications, he reaffirmed his commitment to making the event a success.
