The Chief Executive Officer of Tesla, Elon Musk, has listed a condition to complete the $44 billion Twitter acquisition deal, few months after he threatened to pull out of the deal over a disagreement with the board of Twitter.
Musk stated that the management of Twitter should avail him of the method of sampling that reveals how the company arrived at the conclusion that its spam account is below 5% of its over 300 million users.
Musk informed the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in July that Twitter’s “material breach” and “false and misleading” statements compelled him to terminate the deal.
According to him, the board did not provide necessary information about its fake accounts, so he could determine the exact percentage of bots using Twitter. Meanwhile, the management insisted that it released data agreed on the contract.

As the case is still in court owing to Twitter’s decision to compel Musk to complete the deal via a lawsuit, the world’s wealthiest man held a Twitter poll to ask his followers if “Less than 5% of Twitter daily users are fake/spam.”
The poll recorded over 822,766 votes with 65% of voters voting “No”, while 35% voted “Yes”. While responding to the outcome of the poll, Musk tweeted: “Twitter has spoken.”
