“And the anger of the Lord burned against Uzzah, and God struck him down there for his irreverence; and he died there by the ark of God.” 2Sam 6:7

As mentioned in Part one, Part two will focus on what I call “Medium Spirt of Error/ mistakes with terrible/fatal consequences on earth “ My prayer is that you don’t make such mistakes or errors. Uzzah thought he was doing God a favour when he wanted to steady the ark of God, but God killed him because of that error. This type of spirit of error, when in operation, makes a man to commit blunders or mistakes that will make him/her to loose their lives. Spirit of error or mistake can lead to destruction, untimely death and loss of exalted position among others. For example, a mistake by a pilot on a flight or a surgeon on the operating table can cost the lives of many. Let us look at FIVE cases in the  bible.

 1. Immigration: (Naomi) in Ruth 1: 3-5, the bible says “Now Elimelek, Naomi’s husband, died, and she was left with her two sons. 4 They married Moabite women, one named Orpah and the other Ruth. After they had lived there about ten years, 5 both Mahlon and Kilion also died and Naomi was left without her two sons and her husband.” Terrible mistake you will say. It is the mercy of God that can deliver you and I from such. In this age of economic meltdown, you see highly relaxed immigration policies from the western world. Many people don’t seek the face of God and many perish on the journey or on arrival at their destinations. As we speak, many die daily on Meditarenesn Sea and in the desert. It is the Spirit of error that is making many to loose their lives. The Holy Spirt is warning you not to fall into error of immigration before seeking His face. Before relocating to Canada it took a lot of prayer on my part with God’s confirmation. There is nothing wrong in immigration but don’t do it without clearance from heaven it could lead to untimely death. Be warned!

 2. Listening to wrong voices. (The Young Prophet Versus the Old Prophet). “The old prophet answered, “I too am a prophet, as you are. And an angel said to me by the word of the Lord. Bring him back with you to your house so that he may eat bread and drink water.’” (But he was lying to  him.) When the man of God had finished eating and drinking, the prophet who had brought him back saddled his donkey for him. 24 As he went on his way, a lion(N) met him on the road and killed him, and his body was left lying on the road, with both the donkey and the lion standing beside it. 1 King 13:18,23-24.  The background  to this is that God sent the young prophet on a mission with a strong warning not to eat on the trip, but a so called old prophet met him and  LIED to him that God changed his mind and wanted him to eat. The younger prophet ate and was killed by a lion. There is a spirit in the church today that deliberately lies and causes people to loose their lives! The only way to avoid this premature death is 1: learn to hear God yourself and OBEY what God tells you. It doesn’t matter what your Pastor, Bishop, GO, Prophet, Apostle tells you, if it contradicts what God says, obey God, otherwise the spirt of error will cause you death- You heard me- Death- Be warned!

 3. Pride. (Uzziah ) In 2 Chron. 26:14-21, we see a man who was a great king in Israel being prone to the spirit of error. This was a king who started very well; very intelligent and creative. He was the first in Israel to construct machines for wars and he introduced at that time mechanised farming with good irrigation system. When the spirit of error got hold of him, his heart was lifted up to his destruction. He made the greatest mistake of his life, when he overstepped his boundaries into the office of the priest to burn incense on the altar, which was Azariah’ s duties to perform. Even when he was corrected by the priest, he refused to heed the priest’s appeal. Eventually, he became leprous instantly and lost his kingship. He became a leper until his death, and was ostracised from the society. Are you operating on arrogance and pride, and you are being warned from the pulpit, by parents, bosses and colleagues you are in danger of premature death! Be warned.

4. Vengeance (Saul). “Saul said to his armor-bearer, “Draw your sword and run me through,(G) or these uncircumcised(H) fellows will come and run me through and abuse me.”But his armor-bearer was terrified and would not do it; so Saul took his own sword and fell on it.1 Sam 31:4  Saul was a brilliant, tall and handsome man. God chose him to become king of Israel. God filled him with His spirit- to the extent that he began to prophecy! But spirt of error took him over, the spirt of hatred for his subordinate, he spent much of his life pursuing to kill David. The Spirit of error did not allow him to be patient and take instructions from prophet Samuel. Spirit of error did not allow him to destroy the Amelikites as instructed by God. Lastly the Spirit of error led him to commit suicide!  The Spirit of error operates in hatred and anger which leads people to kill spouses, bosses, political opponents, assassinate business partners, kill church members, and eventually destroys the person . How do you deal with such Spirit? Prayers. Refuse to be driven by a selfish agenda. Think through before taking decisions. When you feel oppressed by this Spirit, seek deliverance!

 5.  Sexual recklessness: Samson – “Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines!” Then he pushed with all his might, and down came the temple on the rulers and all the people in it. Thus he killed many more when he died than while he lived.1Judge 16:30. Samson kept following Philistine women ! It was a Spirit of error. Are you always thinking of immorality? Are you always tempted to watch pornography, masturbation and do ungodly things? Many are in jail for raping people. It is the spirit of error that leads to death. Samson lost his anointing, mantle, pair of eyes, life’s purpose and died prematurely! Discipline alone is not enough to deal with the spirit of sexual error. Discipline helps you to set boundaries. Boundaries helps you to make covenant. Good but not enough. You must fight to deal with the spirit of immorality. Many die in the process of sexual error due to diseases STI, STD, HIV/AIDS and abortion. Be a man/ woman of secret place of prayer! You cannot overcome the spirit of sexual error if you ignore the direct command of prayer and fasting. You have to learn to wait upon the Lord instead of putting your heads on Delilah. Too many Delilah laps are available to send many anointed heads to early graves and vice versa.

Conclusion: Time and space will not permit more examples from the Bible or contemporary life. But think of many you know today that are dead because of one spirit of error or the other.  Learn before it is too late.  God’s plan is not for you to die prematurely but to live long and in the end be fruitful. The Spirit of error led to Naomi loosing her husband and children. King Uzziah died as a leper. Saul and Samson committed suicide. It is the same spirit that makes a Christian to hold on to the doctrine of the Nicolaitans that believe once saved, always saved. Rev. 2:15-16. It is the doctrine that makes a man to continue in sin and believe that as long as he has confessed Christ as Lord and Saviour, he has the licence to sin and still make it to heaven. The spirit that ignores studying the Word, prayer, fasting, fellowship and watchfulness as many Christians do today will ultimately lead to spiritual and physical premature death. Error is both of the mind and of the spirit. This spirit leads men to make erroneous judgments and decisions which eventually lead to failure and calamity in life. Many have lost their jobs, relationships, integrity, positions and their lives because of the Spirit of error. Pray this prayer : Father! Arise in your power help me to discipline myself and deliver me from the spirit of error that has the potency to terminate my life prematurely, in the name of Jesus Christ. Shalom. Thanks
