Around 50 people made their way through downtown Sydney, Nova Scotia recently to demand better healthcare for people that need it.
The rally happened after the recent deaths of two Nova Scotia women that waited many hours for care at their local emergency rooms.
The government of Nova Scotia announced changes to improve emergency room wait times, but the organizer of the march, Jennifer MacDonald feels those changes won’t be enough to fix long-standing problems.

MacDonald said: “I mean we can have all the plans we want.
“But if we don’t have an effective and timely retention and recruitment plan for doctors, nurses, and paramedics, who is going to do the jobs?
“It’s really important to let the government know how scared we are. And how critical this is – that we’re losing friends and family members.”
