A Canadian man has been deported from Bali, Indonesia for trying to offer an “orgasmic” yoga class after Indonesian authorities revealed that he disrespected local values and traditions.
The Canadian, Christopher Kyle Martin, was deported from Indonesia recently after he promoted a “Tantric Full Body Orgasm” class online for 20 euros ($24). The promotion went viral on social media and annoyed some conservative groups.
During a press briefing with Martin seated beside immigration officers, the governor of Bali, Wayan Koster said: “This activity potentially damages the reputation of Indonesia and Bali as a tourist destination, and is irrespectful of Bali’s customs.”
“If you want to come back here, you have to respect Balinese custom,” the governor said to him.
Bali Immigration Office confirmed that Martin arrived in Indonesia in April on a tourist visa, and had been deported for disrespecting Balinese culture and traditions.
According to the immigration office, Martin defended his action by saying that the yoga class would not involve any sexual activity and will only focus on breathing technique.
The class was cancelled after the outcry.
