Former Ambassador of Nigeria to Spain, Mrs Bianca Ojukwu, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to release leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

Bianca made this appeal recently while speaking at the 10th memorial anniversary of the late Igbo leader, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, which took place in Owerri.
She admonished the President to look into the recent plea made by some Igbo leaders when they visited the State House in Abuja and asked for Kanu’s release.
According to Bianca, Kanu’s release would further demonstrate Buhari’s magnanimity.
She said: “The clamour for secession is a direct consequence of perceived inequality in the distribution of resources and political appointments in the country.
“Kanu’s release will further buttress President Buhari’s commitment to healing the wounds inflicted by the sense of marginalisation felt by the Igbo nation.”
