Famous American actress and comedian, Betty White has died. She died a few weeks before a milestone birthday.
Before her death, Betty was a trailblazer and media pioneer who had the longest career for any woman in TV. She starred in many shows over the past 8 decades which started in 1939.

Betty is most popular for her lead role as Rose Nylund in “The Golden Girls,” which aired between 1985 and 1992.
In the 40s, she got her start in radio, appearing on “Blondie,” “The Great Gildersleeve,” and “This is Your FBI.” She later got her radio program. She started working on a TV variety show called “Hollywood on Television” with Al Jarvis in 1949 — which she co-hosted later– before getting more TV roles.
In 1973, she made her breakthrough in comedy when she played Sue Ann Nivens on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” … which aired till 1977, then she bagged her starring role in “The Betty White Show.”
She won 5 Primetime Emmy Awards which include 2 for ‘Mary Tyler Moore,’ 1 for “Golden Girls” and 1 for her 1975 ‘SNL’ appearance and Screen Actors Guild Awards, American Comedy Awards and even a Grammy award in 2012.
She bagged many Golden Globes nominations and was also honoured with lots of Lifetime Achievement Awards and celebrations through several organizations.
Betty recently made headlines when she told People: “I’ve heard Ryan [Reynolds] can’t get over his thing for me.” Ryan and Betty co-starred in the 2009 movie, “The Proposal.”
While jokingly responding on Twitter, Ryan tweeted: “I’m absolutely sick of the media exploiting past relationships just to drive clicks.”
The last time we got Betty on camera, she was teasing the launch of her Facebook page back in 2012.
Betty died at the age of 99 and she would have celebrated her 100th birthday on January 17.
