The Balenciaga fashion house severed its ties with Ye, who is formerly known as Kanye West.
Ye’s several offensive comments, including anti-Semitic posts that earned him suspensions from Twitter and Instagram, triggered the move.
“Balenciaga has no longer any relationship nor any plans for future projects related to this artist,” Kering told Women’s Wear Daily in response to a query making without making any elaboration.
For several years, Ye has collaborated with Balenciaga and artistic director, Demna Gvasalia, in several ways. Kim Kardashian, Ye’s ex-wife, also had an active relationship with the fashion house and has appeared in their advertising campaigns. Kim Kardashian also credits her former husband with introducing her to the brand.

Ye was barred from posting on Twitter and Instagram over anti-Semitic comments that went against the policies of these platforms. He has also suggested slavery was a choice and called the COVID-19 vaccine the “mark of the beast.”
After getting locked out of the social media platforms, he’s offered to buy right-wing-friendly social network Parler.
The rapper participated in the Paris Fashion Week as a model in Balenciaga’s ready-to-wear show, what Gvasalia at the time, called an “iconic moment.” He was then seen at Givenchy’s collection wearing a Balenciaga-branded black tooth brace.
Ye was also criticized for donning a T-shirt with a “White Lives Matter” inscription to his Yeezy collection show in Paris. The shirt also made an appearance on the runway itself. According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks hate groups, White Lives Matter is a neo-Nazi group.
Ye has also ended Yeezy’s association with Gap and has told Bloomberg that he plans to sever ties with his corporate suppliers. Adidas is also reviewing its sneaker deal with Ye, and JPMorganChase and Ye have brought their business relationship to an end. This was already in the works even before Ye’s anti-Semitic comments.
