Bayer Leverkusen’s head coach, Xabi Alonso has confirmed that Super Eagles striker, Victor Boniface will not be affected by his failed move to join Saudi Premier League giants Al Nassr in January.
Boniface was set for a mouth-watering €15m per season move to the Saudi club before the deal fell through as the Saudi club signed Aston Villa forward Jhon Durán instead in a €77m deal, including add-ons, ending their pursuit of the Nigerian striker.

Boniface, who recently recovered from a thigh injury has returned to the side, has featured in their last three games and scoring two goals.
While speaking on Boniface’s failed move to Saudi, head coach, Xabi Alonso stated that Boniface was open to leaving the club in January but is happy to stay back at the club.
Alonso said: “These things happen.
“We spoke before this transfer window began. He was open to the idea of a transfer, but he’s happy here. That’s why I don’t think it will be a big stress for him. He’ll switch back in his head and accept the idea that he’s staying here. He’ll see his situation positively and fight for his position in the team.”
