Unspecified number of robbers killed DJ Bash recently when they invaded and robbed Volcano, a nightclub located in Gwarimpa Estate, Abuja.
While reacting to the incident, the spokesperson of FCT police, Josephine Adeh, said officers were not notified on time but investigations had started to uncover details of the crime.
She said the police were notified about the invasion, estimated to have taken place around 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, around 5:30 a.m. though the nightclub was only minutes walk away from a nearby police station.
Adeh expressed deep concerns about the conduct of Volcano nightclub in not reporting the incident on time. She said an outsider notified the police at 5:30 a.m., hours after the robbery was over.
She wrote on X: “The police was not alert on time, but investigation has commenced.”
She assured residents that security officers were on top of the situation and urged them to be vigilant and report suspicious activities.
She said: “We advise residents to always be conscious of their surroundings. When you notice suspicious activity, call the police immediately, and we will respond swiftly.”
Adeh urged citizens to phone the police emergency lines and emphasized that the same effort that goes into revealing crimes on social media should be directed towards calling the hotlines.
She made it known that the emergency lines did not belong to the police alone and that other security outfits could respond to distress calls on time and save the day.
She wrote: “Again, the FCT police distress emergency numbers are 0803 200 3913, 0806 158 1938.”
How sad. Another life wasted for no reason! May God grant him perpetual rest.
