Former Super Eagles defender Taye Taiwo has been inducted into Olympique Marseille’s Hall of Fame.
Taiwo, regarded as one of Super Eagles greatest left-backs, earned 54 caps for the Super Eagles between 2004 and 2011. He scored five goals.
He had an impressive career at the club level, playing for top European teams like AC Milan and Marseille, and a stint in the English Premier League with QPR.
Marseille was his first European club, where he spent six years, raking in 271 appearances, scoring 25 goals, and providing 23 assists.

He won Ligue 1, the League Cup, and the French Super Cup before he moved to AC Milan in 2011.
He retired in 2019 and he has lived in France since then. His recent induction into Marseille’s Club of Legends recognizes his significant contribution to the club, joining notable players like Samir Nasri, Mamadou Niang, and Paulo Cezar.
Taiwo is one of the four Nigerians that have played for Marseille, alongside Victor Agali, Wilson Oruma and Joseph Yobo.
