Mexico’s National Migration Institute has revealed that 343 migrants, comprising 103 unaccompanied minors, were seen in an abandoned truck trailer on a highway in Veracruz, eastern Mexico.
The migrants came from countries like Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, and Ecuador, with 28 migrants being families from Guatemala and El Salvador. The trailer had adequate provisions for transporting the migrants, including vents, fans, and a second floor.

Officials said all of them appeared to be harmed.
The migrants were identified with coloured wristbands, which are commonly used by smugglers to track their clients. The truck driver not been identified but the route is a well-known path used by migrants trying to reach the US border.
Mexican social services will take care of the migrants till their status is decided.
